Who is Living Lens?

I’m Rhys, and behind Living Lens is just me, my camera, and a love for capturing stories. I live in Coventry with my partner Rianna and our new puppy, Willow — both of whom remind me daily why the little moments matter just as much as the big ones.

Before stepping back into photography, I spent several years as a police officer. That role exposed me to situations that were challenging, emotional, and deeply human. It gave me resilience, sharpened my attention to detail, and most importantly, taught me the value of empathy. All of those experiences shape the way I approach photography today: with patience, care, and a focus on capturing people as they truly are.

Living Lens is more than a name — it’s my way of combining professional experience with personal passion. From weddings filled with laughter and tears, to portraits and creative projects, my goal is always the same: to create timeless visuals that tell your story with authenticity and heart.

Why did I get back into photography?

After years serving as a police officer, I realised how important it is to hold onto the moments that matter most. The job gave me resilience and perspective, but it also showed me just how precious time, people, and memories really are. Photography has always been a passion of mine, and stepping back into it felt like the natural way to reconnect with my creative side while capturing stories that last a lifetime.
